Acceptable Countersignatures
Some GPs may decide that they do not wish personal details of theirs to appear on the passport applications of others and that therefor they will no longer sign passports for their patients. In that event it could be helpful and prevent unhappiness if they point out where else this work can be done. It would appear that there are a large number of acceptable countersignatures that sign passports and they include:
